Mother & Daughter | Northern Michigan Lifestyle Photographer

This session was so much fun. These two clearly have a beautiful relationship. We battled more mosquitoes than I’ve ever seen in my entire life, but you can’t tell by looking at the images!

Olivia’s 5 Birthday Party | Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Party

I’m going to keep this a little more light hearted and more about the sweet little party we had, rather than sob to all of you about how sad I am that my babies are growing up way too quickly before my eyes.

When Olivia and I decided on her theme, we were aiming more for Strawberry Shortcake¬† – the girl/book/cartoon/doll. However, as I started picking stuff up her for her party, it turned more into a Strawberry/Strawberry Shortcake – the cake, kind of party. Mostly because I was being a little selfish and wanted classic Strawberry Shortcake for her, not new and trendy Strawberry Shortcake and all of that old-ish stuff can be hard to find at a decent price for a 5 year old’s Birthday Party and because she isn’t in to the new cartoon and all of that either. I think she just liked the idea.

The day was beautiful and she had a lot of fun with good friends!

2012 In a Post

Gosh, it doesn’t seem like I should be compiling all of my sessions from the past year just yet! I feel like I JUST did that! It’s really been an amazing year. I’ve met some really incredible families, made some new friends and received some of my strangest requests yet! I’ve met and snuggled 31 Newborns and even more families. I’m looking forward to lots of new and fun adventures in 2013!

In no particular order whatsoever, a few from the past year:

Make Every Moment Matter

Time is certainly not slowing down, I don’t think it ever will. I’ve come to a lot of realizations lately, one most important being, to soak up all the littlest moments with my family. My oldest baby is now 7. In my head I had him just yesterday. I’ve done my best to remember every little piece of him and what I don’t remember will hopefully be made up for in photos and videos. I find myself getting foggy with certain memories, phrases he has said that I vowed to remember, but haven’t. Thankfully, I started wrote many of these down. My 2nd baby is 3, going on 25. Again, didn’t I just have her yesterday?! Alas, time blows by and little things are starting to make me feel older. My baby, my final baby, is 6 months old. Half way to 1 year. Time is not getting any slower and I am doing my best to capture and remember it all. Every roll, every wrinkle, every coo, every cry, every snuggle. The way she looks at her daddy. The way she smiles at her brother. The way she winces when her sister comes running at her. I want to remember everything.
